Voice measurements · beta

Try it: speak a customer's measurements

Measure the customer and say the numbers out loud, in English, Hindi, Gujarati or Spanish. Fractions like a half and a quarter work too.

Voice is in beta and still being tested. It will mishear words for now, so it will not work as well as it should yet. Everyone can still try it, here and in the app.

Say for example: “chest 40, waist 36 and a half, sleeve 24 and a quarter”

Nothing you say is saved. How voice handles your audio is explained in our privacy policy.

Prices and receipts in dollars

Choose the United States in Settings and every price, receipt and report shows in $. Receipts print on a regular printer or an 80 mm receipt printer.

Speak the measurements, in English or Spanish

Say "inseam thirty-two and a half" and it fills in. Voice works in English and Spanish (and Hindi and Gujarati). It is still in beta, so check each number.

Pickups you can see coming

This week's pickups and anything overdue are on the first screen, so a customer never comes in to find their pants not ready.

Your records, yours to take

Export customers, tickets, sales and payments to a spreadsheet for your bookkeeper at any time.

Good to know

  • It runs in the browser: nothing to install, and it needs an internet connection.
  • Sales tax: you can add one tax rate to your bills. Today the bill calls it "VAT"; a "Sales tax" label is coming. Many alteration tickets carry no tax at all; ask your accountant what applies in your state.
  • One login per shop for now. Staff logins and several devices at once are planned, not built.
  • Card payments are recorded, not taken: use your own card reader, then mark the ticket as paid.

Questions and answers

Is this a POS for my alterations shop?

It covers what an alterations shop needs from one: tickets, deposits, pickup dates, payments and receipts. It does not take card payments itself; you use your own card reader and record the payment in Loomton.

Can I take a deposit and collect the rest at pickup?

Yes. Enter the deposit when you write the ticket. At pickup, the ticket shows the balance due, and paying it marks the ticket as paid.

Does it work with inches and yards?

Yes. Measurements are the numbers you type, so inches work as they are, with halves and quarters. Fabric can be counted by the yard, the meter, the piece or the bolt.

Can my staff speak Spanish to it?

Voice measurements understand Spanish as well as English, and the two can be mixed. The screens themselves are in English for now.

Does it handle sales tax?

You can add one tax rate, included in your prices or added on top. The bill labels it "VAT" today; a "Sales tax" label is planned. It does not file returns or work out rates by state.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Open the website on a phone, iPad or computer, sign up, and start. There is nothing to download.
